Benjamin Babb, of Barrington, married June 28, 1779. Hannah Furbur, of Rochester. Isaiah Babb was baptized at Portsmouth, October, 1710, and was perhaps the immigrant ancestor. Moses Babb married, August 22, 1780, Meribah Locke, at Rochester, though both were residents of .Barrington. Thomas Babb marrjed a generation earlier, March 17, 1757, a wife of the same name — Meribah Locke, of Barrington. Joshua Babb married December 12, 1720, at Newington, Deborah Bickford; William Babb, of Portsmouth, married December 7, 1732, Dorcas Haynes, of York ; Sampson Babb and wife had a daughter Sarah, baptized September 2, 1734, at Newington ; they had seats in the meeting house at Portsmouth. The Babb family was small ; those we have named are practically all of the early generation and all lived in Portsmouth, Barrington and Newington in the same section.
