There is some indication that there are relatives/descendants of Elie Moustier living in the United States. These relatives arrived here following the onset of the French Revolution. This is a new line. No clear documentation has been yet compiled and existing records are currently being examined. There is DNA evidence that the Moustier family are related to the Legares, Mustains, Moustien, and Mosson families. Additional familial connections may also include the families du Force and Churchill

While serving as minister of France in the American Colonies, he had as a mistress, Anne Flore Millet, the marquise de Bréhan, the sister of his wife. It is rumored that they had a child together. While the relationship is well documented the rumor of an American born child is as yet unsubstantiated.
